Dr. Ravishankar J is a 2001 batch IAS officer of Karnataka Cadre, currently serving as Secretary to the Government, Planning, Programme Monitoring and Statistics Department. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Dental Surgery (B.D.S.).

He has previously served in the departments of Urban Housing, Municipal Administration, and Agriculture, to name a few. He has also served as Deputy Commissioner in Raichur. Mandya, Kolar, and Belgaum.
