The engagement entails the creation of a Future Readiness Framework & Curriculum for grades 3 to 12 that will address the future with a sharp focus on 3 pillars: Aata, Paata & Audyōgika ; a new digital learning module using Microlearning toward making Karnataka the first state to implement Micro-Learning for PUC at scale ; building a new branded educational framework that reflects aspirations of Karnataka.
Engagement Highlights
- Proposed early vocational education in all govt. run KGBV schools and designed holistic vocational education units in SEZ regions.
- Submitted two position papers as part of State committees under the NEP 2020 mandate.
- Conducted a dipstick study focusing on the academic aspect of NSQF with all the 240 schools where NSQF is currently running.
- Conducted the SSK Knowledge of India Quiz with the Education Department which saw a footfall of 3 lakh students.
Dr. S. Selva Kumar, currently Principal Secretary to Government, Department of Primary and Secondary Education with concurrent charge as Secretary, Department of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood and Chairman, Karnataka Skill Development Authority. He is an officer of the Karnataka cadre's 1997 batch, with a rich educational background covering a fellowship of the Institution of Engineers India (civil engg), bachelor's in law, master's in international development, and also a doctorate.
Dr. Selva Kumar’s service in Mysore and rural districts in Bangalore as Deputy Commissioners has great highlights of bold initiatives and administrative reforms. Apart from working in the education and health departments of the state, he was also the Director, Agriculture Marketing, Bangalore. He has also served his term as the Director to the Prime Ministers' office under Shri Narendra Modi.
